Kerry O’Neill is a writer and director who’s recent television work includes the breakout hit Jury Duty (Amazon), (which she also acted in, and recently wrapped writing the second season of), and Netflix’s Murderville comedy series and subsequent Christmas special. Kerry's films have earned her acclaim and screened at festivals worldwide. Her first film, Bea at Rehab (2021), was the recipient of the Panavision New Filmmakers Grant, the Vanishing Angle Post Production Grant, and earned her a fellowship as a 2021 Short to Feature Lab fellow. Kerry was named a 2023 Vimeo Breakout Creator of the Year after the success of her second film, Walk Out Nice and Smooth, which debuted as a Vimeo Staff Pick. In 2024 she was named a fellow of the prestigious American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women, where she directed her third film, Interloper, a dark comedy thriller starring Ryan Simpkins, Chloe East, Whitney Rice, and Rich Sommer. Interloper premiered at The Directors Guild of America Theater in Los Angeles and is still in the midst of it’s festival run. It will be available to screen online shortly.
Kerry got her start doing comedy at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles and as a writers assistant at Abominable Pictures. Kerry was nominated for a WGA Award and honored with a Peabody Award, a Film Independent Spirit Award, and an AFI Award for her work on Jury Duty. The New York Times also attributed the success of the show, in part, to her viral post of the trailer. Kerry is a proud member of the WGA, SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, and the Internet Movie DataBase. She is currently in development on a number of projects across film and television, including a series executive produced by Sian Heder + a feature film adaptation of her latest short, Interloper.
